Fort Morgan

It's a short drive down Fort Morgan Road, but those few miles will take you back in time more than 150 years. As you stand in the shadow of the impressive fort and see the waters of Mobile Bay surrounding, it isn't hard to imagine those storied days during the Civil War when Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island stood guard against the advancing ships of Union Admiral David Farragut.

Fort Morgan also served during the Spanish-American War and World Wars I and II. Today visitors can enjoy an informative tour and learn about the unique design of the fort.

Throughout the year, the fort features, reenactments, candlelight tours and other special events. Be sure to check our calendar of events to see what's happening now during your stay.
