Slow Cooker Super Bowl Party

Don’t miss the fun of the big day by spending it whipping up snacks. These two easy recipes are tasty, hearty and sure to please the fan fanatics in your household.


Barbecue Pulled Pork Sandwiches

  • 2 -3 lb. pork butt
  • 1 can cola soda
  • 1/2 bottle barbecue sauce
  • Seasoning Salt

Generously rub pork butt with seasoning salt. Put pork in slow cooker and pour in soda and barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours. Shred the meat into small chunks, using two forks.Allow the meat to rest in the juices for 10 minutes before serving. Reheats well. Serve on large rolls or hamburger buns.


Savory Italian Sausage Stew (from Readyseteat.com)

  • PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1-1/4 pounds mild Italian pork sausage links, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 pkg (16 oz each) frozen Italian-style vegetable blend
  • 2 medium zucchini, sliced
  • 1 can (24 oz each) Hunt's® Four Cheese Pasta Sauce
  • 1 can (28 oz each) Hunt's® Diced Tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (6 oz each) Hunt's® Tomato Paste

Spray inside of slow cooker with cooking spray; set aside. Cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through and no longer pink; drain. Combine sausage and all remaining ingredients in slow cooker. Cover; cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH 4 to 6 hours. Stir before serving. Serves 8. 280 calories per 1 cup serving.
